PRP is committed to improving the quality of life in Hawai‘i by standing up for more housing that prioritizes local families and workers.

Supporting development near transit and jobs

We advocate for building affordable housing near our city’s transit stations, as well as across our urban core, to offer Hawai‘i’s working families better access to transportation and their workplaces. Too many residents are being forced to leave the Islands because of the lack of affordable housing exacerbated by grueling commutes. It’s time to push forward with new solutions.

Backing mixed-income and workforce housing

We are leading efforts to construct mixed-income and workforce housing to address Hawai‘i’s affordable housing crisis with viable solutions. Such construction would greatly improve the quality of life in our Islands for local families.

Building more rental housing is essential for our state to thrive, as increasing numbers of locals struggle to find affordable places to live in our island home. We advocate for such construction to accommodate hard-working families.

Rebuilding Lahaina

During the devastating 2023 Maui wildfire, a staggering number of Lahaina residents and business owners lost their homes and livelihoods. To help them resurrect what was lost, we advocate for the responsible construction of new housing and commercial properties across the community.
