PRP Executive Leadership Series​

We’re investing in the next generation of our industry’s workforce

Hawai’i’s construction industry depends on strong leadership to drive it forward. PRP’s Executive Leadership Series provides the next generation of leaders in Hawaii the opportunity to develop the advanced skills, insights, and connections necessary for guiding their firms toward success.

Over nine months, participants learn from Hawai’i’s top design and construction professionals, tackling real-world challenges and exploring effective leadership strategies and business essentials. Through mentorship, collaboration, and hands-on learning experiences, participants build valuable relationships, enhance the skills needed to lead projects and teams, and gain the confidence to shape the future of their firms and Hawaii’s construction industry.

Series Structure

  • 9-month cohort-based program, from March 2025 to November 2025
  • Classes to be held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the Entrepreneurs Sandbox.
  • Cohort will be limited to 20 students.
  • Paced to digest, reflect, and implement teachings between sessions.

Application Process & Requirements

  • Complete the online application form by January 22, 2025.
  • Shortlisted candidates will participate in a brief conference call with the program selection committee.
  • All candidates will be notified of their application status no later than February 5, 2025.
  • Selected candidates must:
    • be employed by a construction company that is signatory to the Hawaii Regional Council of Carpenters
    • manage other people as part of their day-to-day responsibilities.
    • have the full support of their firm leadership.
    • make a commitment to attend all 9 sessions.
Cost

Tuition for the 2025 PRP Executive Leadership Series is $2,500 and covers a portion of the overall program costs. PRP will cover the remaining expenses for course materials, speaker fees, lunch and program events.

Hawai‘i

Christian Kapono Pa

Born and raised on Hawaii Island in the District of Puna, Christian Kapono Pa – known to most as simply “Pono” – grew up on his family’s farms in Kea‘au and Pepe‘ekeo, where they produced bananas, tomatoes, and cucumbers for state-wide consumption. Pono is a Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi graduate (Class of 2008) and a former Business and Performing Arts Major of the University of Hawaiʻi – Hilo. He is currently a real estate broker and Broker-in-Charge at Savio Realty, Ltd. in Pahoa, where he has had his license since 2013. Pono has a passion for politics and government affairs, in how policymaking plans for, shapes, and designs the community in which he lives and serves. He has been a chairperson for the Hawaiʻi Island REALTORS® Government Affairs Committee, a Past-President of the association (2018), and a recipient of the association’s REALTOR® of the Year Award (2020). He is also a member of the Hawaiʻi Island Chamber of Commerce where he serves as a chairperson for the Young Professionals Recognition Gala Committee which selects and honors some of the island’s best and brightest business professionals aged 21 to 40. In his (limited) free time, Pono enjoys golfing and fishing, and spending time with his partner and their two-year old dachshund – Sakura.
